I've never nominated something for deletion before, and perhaps I'll regret nominating this fine article. This article seems clearly a spoof and a joke. If I'm wrong please forgive me. LegCircus 01:31, Oct 7, 2004 (UTC)
- Keep - it's very tongue-in-cheek (and perhaps classing it as a real extreme sport is a bit far), but it does exist. The Channel 4 documentary referenced really was broadcast, I saw it. Tom- 02:14, 7 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Keep. Not a spoof. Scary, but not a spoof. Lyellin 02:22, Oct 7, 2004 (UTC)
- Keep. A web search would have shown this is quite well-known. -- Netoholic @ 02:34, 2004 Oct 7 (UTC)
- Keep. A good idea to bring questionable things to the attention of the community, however. - RedWordSmith 03:31, 7 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Keep; it's daft, ridiculous and stupid, but most importantly it is definitely real. I saw the documentary, and the sight of people climbing Mont Blanc with ironing boards strapped to their backs is probably enough on it's own to validate this... Stick a picture on it and it could find it's way to FAC. Kinitawowi 09:04, Oct 7, 2004 (UTC)
- Keep; goofy, but well attested, and of some mild interest. (Better luck next time, Leg! There's no shortage of stuff to delete.) — Bill 11:30, 7 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Comment I find this very, very, very, hard to believe. I actually don't believe it, despite what you folks say, or the 75,000 google hits, but nonetheless I apologize for the VfD. Please forgive me.
- Keep; very classy article. An insight into the bizarre. Danny 13:05, 10 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Heh. So sayth the Wikiholics. ;) [[User:Neutrality|Neutrality (hopefully!)]] 21:27, Oct 12, 2004 (UTC)
- Keep - an example of what VFD should not be used for. Mark Richards 17:25, 11 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Keep - on the contrary, bringing potentially bogus articles to the wiki community's attention is what VfD should be used for. I agree with RedWordSmith on this one. jguk 23:43, 11 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Keep - this was featured on mainstream news in New Zealand about a month ago. Apparently some New Zealanders own the world record for Extreme Ironing numbers while scuba diving Timgrin 19:42, 11 Oct 2004 (NZST)
- Keep - this is for real. - Ta bu shi da yu 13:00, 12 Oct 2004 (UTC)

- Keep -- If this is a fake they have gone to great lengths. niklas_a 21:21, 12 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Keep. Saw it on 60 minutes. [[User:Neutrality|Neutrality (hopefully!)]] 21:27, Oct 12, 2004 (UTC)
